I want to start this blog of by apologizing for not doing weekly updates. God has done so much the past couple of weeks that I’m excited to tell you about.

I am currently living at Children’s Garden, which is a home for boys who use to live on the streets. Many of the boys have broken families and have been through very hard situations.

There are 20 boys who have become my brothers. They are incredible to say the least.

From the youngest boy named Samuel who is 10
to the oldest boy who is a junior staff named Michael who is 22

along with all of the boys in between that bring so much fun and energy into the home.

There is always music playing through the speakers, or from a group of boys singing and playing guitar, there is always dancing going on (especially to the song oppa gangnam style) and most of all there is laughter.

Lately I have been happier than I ever have before. I’ve realized its not just happiness its joy. Joy from God. I am so filled by His love, my friends and family back in the U.S. and Nicaragua, my team FEARLESS and love from my Filipino brothers.
(Nay Nay, Me, Lexi, Sam, Kory, Bethany, Colten)

I am joyful because I am surrounded by God’s work. I am filled with joy by serving Him. Even by the small things that I am doing here I am so happy words cant describe the feeling.

I absolutely love my ministry here. My team and I work with street kids, have a bible study with prostitutes, have devotionals at a woman’s jail, hang out at CICL, which is a facility for teens who are in trouble with the law, feedings for street kids and so much more.

Being able to hold street kids who have nothing and just hold them in that moment and show them love. Being able to talk in the Woman’s prison and let them know that they are forgiven and how God has such a huge plan for them. Being able to look at the teenagers who got caught up in trouble and get the chance to explain that God’s plan for their lives are so big as long as they believe and want more for their life. Being able to pray over the prostitutes and telling them that they are beautiful, God loves them more than anyone has ever before, and being able to pray over their struggles. Being able to do all of these things is such a blessing in my life.

Being able to do all of these things gives me such an overwhelming JOY.

Thank you for reading this and for all of your prayers throughout my journey.

Your’s In Christ,
Sarah
